The College has prepared a Perspective Plan by taking into consideration the quality indicators of seven criterions determined by NAAC. . The seven criteria and the suggested value framework by NAAC have actually formed the baseline for perspective planning both at macro and micro level. These Seven Criteria are in fact the seven main processes of developing the capabilities of an institution.
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) constituted in the college devised the perspective plan indicating the steps towards development of the institution with reference to quality sustenance and quality enhancement.
CRITERION-I: CURRICULAR ASPECTS: The College is dedicated to ideal of providing quality education to the rural backward area that can be compared with the quality of education given in any urban sophisticated area. It is sensitive to the needs of the changing modern society so introduced career-oriented programmes implemented in phases that suits the needs of the local environment.
CRITERION-II: TEACHING, LEARNING AND EVALUATION: The College has tried to keep pace with the development of modern industries by advocating the modern concept of education having some class room equipped with lap top, LCD projector, Internet connectivity, etc. Proposed to consolidate these innovative processes further by encouraging teachers to adopt Information and communication technologies in their day to day academic transaction and adopting more interactive mode of teaching-learning. Teachers be encouraged to adopt effective, interactive instructional techniques that engage students through the use of interviews, focused group discussions, debates, projects, presentations, experiments, practical, internships and e-resources so as to transform the classroom environment into an exciting learning place. To further strength the development of faculty steps will be taken to organize departmental extension lecture programme, in which distinguished personalities will be invited. Visit to higher education institutions, books fairs to have an expose and orientation of latest trends in higher education to the college teachers.
CRITERION- III: RESEARCH CONSULTANCY AND EXTENSION: The institution is known by the achievements of its faculty and students. It therefore proposes to constitute a Research and faculty development Cell with the aim to encourage and support the faculty. It is targeted that each department shall undertake at least one minor/major research project. Special attention proposed to be given to provide facilities and efforts be made to promote a research culture among faculty, to encourage faculty to publish in academic forums, and introducing extension activities serving the community through research and extension, which is a social responsibility.
CRITERION – IV: INFRASTRUCTURE AND LEARNING RESOURCES: Good infrastructure adds to quality of education and also for better campus life.The infrastructure of the College is developed to keep pace with the needs. Care is taken to maintain the building frequently. The infrastructure facilities are put to their maximum use. The college Library is good in its infrastructure, up keeping and management. The Laboratories are all well equipped and maintained and so students are trained well in all practical aspects in their respective subjects. College proposes to make extensions in the building, Renovations and Maintenance of the following to meet the growing needs of the increased enrolment. Renovation, maintenance and provision of power back-up for college administrative office, laboratories and seminar hall. Repair and Maintenance of both Boys & Girls students’ toilets in college. Extension of lease line and structured cabling for computer labs and library to strengthen internet facility.
CRITERION -V: STUDENT SUPPORT AND PROGRESSION: The College takes all efforts to maintain academic standards and be a leader in the area. Opportunities are given to the students to display technical, artistic and cultural talents. The college has adequate support system for overall progress and personality development of students. Further, efforts will be made to consolidate the mechanism to use student feedback for quality enhancement. Career guidance cell, placement cell, students counseling cell be reoriented with a touch of professionalism for its functioning. It is observed that the students are lacking the proficiency in English and communication. More efficient steps will be taken to introduce programmes like functional/spoken English, to organize workshops on interview techniques, to introduce examination preparation classes for GATE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS etc. under career guidance and development cell,to sign MOU with industries for the benefit of the students. Emphasis will be given on field orientation and creating awareness of the present reality that will be achieved by organizing syllabus relevant field related activities and exposure visits.
CRITERION-VI: GOVERNANCE AND LEADERSHIP: The College has a well structured management system. There are committees and associations to take care of curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The Administration is taken care of effectively with the help of computer networking. There is effective coordination between academic and administrative planning. It has efficient internal coordination and monitoring mechanism. The Management provides necessary support for effective implementation of all academic activities. The institution practices relevant welfare schemes for all its constituents. Management has strong intention to strengthen Welfare schemes for staff and students.
CRITERION – VII: INNOVATIVE PRACTICES: The College has an effective Quality Assurance Cell that works under the guidance of the Principal and vice principal for effective implementation of curricular and extracurricular activities. The institution is sensitive to the changing educational, social and market demands. The college follows several practices to promote value based education and to inculcate civic responsibilities among students. The teachers are committed for all round development of students and will strengthen it further. Focus shall be on innovative efforts in its academic growth. It must be ensured that the institution displays sensitivity to changing educational, social and market demands, promotes ambience of creativity and innovation by adopting quality management strategies in all academic and administrative aspects. This is essentially required to build the Institutional image that will not only keep the students happy and satisfied but also attract the students from far and wide. It shall be the institution’s efforts to promote value-based education, social responsibilities and good citizenry through various programmes.
